We recently joined the Habitot Museum as summer members and Silas loves it. The museum is for kids under 7 but it has some amazingly toddler friendly things going on. Especially all the opportunities to get messy. There's a whole wall to paint on, 2 craft projects to choose from daily and a face painting area, Silas's favorite. He didn't need any instruction from me, he got right into it. ..
The water table area is another favorite spot. He is so serious about his pouring work, he rarely smiles while we are actually at Habitot.
But he frequently asks to go back. Here's another face masterpiece, he calls this one "I'n a tiger!"
Then we went out onto Shattuck Ave to sit at the bus stop and watch the construction crane working. In Berkeley no one questions you about your face paint, it's normal.
We're currently enjoying a visit from Papa (and all the backyard digging in the dirt related activity that he brings!) and the Olympics (Silas has only seen the diving, which he loved! "She jumping! She falling! She doing a somersault in the water! I see another video!")
