Our California Visit
Despite the best efforts of the ice storm and the airline ("The next available flight is ... in three days... with 2 layovers. And you'll be traveling with an infant?" "Sometimes baggage arrives today, sometimes tomorrow, sometimes never, but definitely not in time for your 4 o'clock wedding today.") we did manage to have some fun while in California recently. We were woefully negligent with the camera (for us at least) but here are some highlights.
Cousin Scott and Karen's wedding in San Fran was beautiful, it was great to see family (if briefly) and although we didn't find a place to live in Berkeley (yet) the highlight of our trip was getting a glimpse of what our new life will be like. We had such a great time sampling the local eats, checking out the toddler hotspots and getting reacquainted with some old friends...
Silas spent the entire reception asleep, fun for the parents (we danced all night!) but not for the relatives who rarely get to see him.
The next morning he was ready for coffee with Grandma... at 3am. (this photo was not taken at 3 am because even we don't take photos that early)

He settled for the empty creamer containers.
He talked politics with Uncle Ted

In Berkeley we got to stay with Nisha, Dan and Nikhil. Nisha gets credit for introducing Kevin and me in Atlanta, 12 years ago.
Niki was very generous and let Silas borrow his bath tub duck which provided safe padding for "Silas the wild water baby".

Niki also told Silas all about his favorite baseball team.

I guess he'll need a hat in his size if he's gonna go to games! Kevin says it's okay, as long as he doesn't become a Giants fan.

One of the rare wedding photos, the jet lagged Silas even opened his eyes briefly for the photo
